2022 Global Status Report Renews Call to Decarbonize Building Sector by 2050
According to the USGBC, this year’s report confirms that building-related GHG emissions are not yet dropping, but it also presents data on trends in building policy and investment, both of which are modestly improving, and offers a road map for the industry, along with key recommendations for policy and decision-makers.
The report, at 100 pages, makes a deep dive into energy intensity, gross floor area, number of nationally determined contributions (NDCs) that mention buildings, number of countries with building energy codes, energy consumption and CO2 emissions in buildings, and investment in the buildings sector.
