Carrier Unveils Its First Environmental Product Declaration for Residential HVAC Systems in North America
In March 2025, Carrier announced the release of its first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for residential HVAC systems in North America. This EPD, developed in accordance with ISO 14025 standards, provides a comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA) of the environmental impacts associated with the production, use, and disposal of Carrier’s Comfort™ Fan Coil and Performance™ Variable-Speed Compact Heat Pump. Key metrics detailed in the EPD include carbon dioxide emissions, energy consumption, and natural resource usage, offering transparency into the products’ environmental footprints. ?
Hakan Yilmaz, Carrier’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer, emphasized that this initiative underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability and transparency. By providing clear, credible data, Carrier aims to empower homeowners, contractors, and building professionals to make informed decisions that align with green building practices. This move is part of Carrier’s broader strategy to invest $4 billion in the development of intelligent climate and energy solutions, with a goal of helping customers avoid more than 1 gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. ?
