Certified GreenHome Professionals: Training to Make Our Homes More Sustainable

Certified GreenHome Professionals are equipped to assist in making our living spaces more sustainable. Through a series of courses and videos, you’ll learn the fundamentals of residential green building and remodeling. This training encompasses the five pillars of green building: Energy, Health, Materials, Water, and Place. You’ll be prepared to initiate or participate in green building projects, become a GreenHome Inspector, or offer consultations.

According to the Green Home Institute, our unique on-demand course will bring you up to speed on the basics of green building science through just-in-time education compiled from the best-in-class resources. You will gain foundational knowledge of what it takes to build, remodel, and rehab residential living spaces so that they are better.

There are ten core chapters, including these high-level topics 

  1. Basics of Residential Green Building and Remodeling 
    1. Discussion on the five pillars of residential green building, how they connect, and trade-offs
      1. Energy
      2. Health
      3. Materials
      4. Water 
      5. Place 
  2. Comparing the Residential Green Building Rating Systems 
    1. Comparing the energy ratings and scores
    2. Comparing the main residential green rating systems 
  3. Overview of the GreenStar Homes Certification for existing and new builds.

This includes 11 hours of video and small quiz work to complete and is worth 11 hours in CEUS.
