Energy-efficient Home Credit underused, says NAHB

With the nation’s aging housing stock, homeowners are looking to go green to save money — but only 1.7% of 2023 tax returns claimed the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C), according to IRS statistics. The credit covers up to 30% of eligible upgrades, such as heat humps, insulation and more, with annual limits up to $3,200.
