Greenwich project could add 50 new senior apartments

A proposal is back in play for 50 new units of senior housing for western Greenwich, nine years after it met initial resistance from neighbors and town officials. The Housing Authority of the Town of Greenwich has formally petitioned the town’s Board of Selectmen for a “municipal improvement” approval to allow construction of the proposed Vinci Gardens Senior Housing at the existing McKinney Terrace housing development at 71 Vinci Dr., just off West Putnam Avenue in Byram. The Housing Authority stated that the project will contribute toward Connecticut’s goal of municipalities reserving at least 10 percent of their available units at below-market rates.
