How New York is pioneering eco-friendly apartments
Sendero Verde, a 709-unit development in East Harlem, has set a new standard as the largest certified passive house building in the U.S. Completed in 2022 the complex offers low-income and formerly homeless residents stable temperatures, reduced noise and clean air.
As reported by The Guardian, the project aligns with New York’s push toward electrification and away from fossil fuels by using superior insulation, air sealing and efficient ventilation.
