Modernization Campaign For Homes Announced by White House

The White House announced new programs, which will be done through the Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Government Service Agency, to help bolster the modernization of homes and buildings in the nation.

According to an article on USGNN, this plan would help invest federal funds into projects that would make buildings and homes more affordable, resilient and energy efficient. These programs include the Initiative for Better Energy, Emissions and Equality and the E3 Initiative, which helps provide a framework to help communities, manufacturers and manufacturing supply chains to adapt to the green economy, according to the EPA website.

These efforts fall in line with President Biden and his administration’s immediate priorities, according to the White House website, to tackle the climate crisis by using the latest science while empowering workers and businesses.

In addition, this modernization campaign could act as a bolster to President Biden’s goal to build, rehab and/or retrofit two million homes to be more affordable and energy efficient, as stipulated in his American Jobs Plan.
