Wishing yourself, your family and your team at work a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Our sixth and final issue of this year’s Volume 16, is the Annual Awards issue, recognizing our Builders of the Year, Architect of the Year and Community of the Year. We also share the ‘Who’s Who’ in Green Home Building, alongside our Editor’s Choice Products and Services recipients and the 2021 Green Home Builder Magazine Building Materials Brand Preference Survey.

Many thanks to the nominating committee and Editorial Advisory Board who helped to curate this year’s winners and to all of the readers who responded to the Brand Survey poll. Congratulations to this year’s honorees for your ongoing hard work, earning well deserved recognition for your continued efforts, striving for excellence.

We have had another solid year here at the magazine; showcasing certified projects, working with the team at NAHB, NGBS, our friends at The Energy Star Program, Wellness Within Your Walls, various chapters of the USGBC and senior stakeholders in the high performance home building community, to create and showcase sustainable home building specific content within the magazines print and digital versions, as well as the Green Home Builder website and our Green Home Bytes weekly newsletter platforms.

As more home builders and design teams incorporate green principles and practices into their projects, great stories emerge for us to share with you. Indeed, if you are reading this and you have recently worked on a project you would like us to share, do please get in touch.

Plans are moving forward for the next chapter in our own ABC Green Home Project. The ABC 5.0 is planned for Temecula, CA to be another Net-Zero, LEED Platinum home, built to severely beat the next version of California’s Title 24, the toughest residential building code in the world and the primary reason we build right here at home in southern California.

That and the fact we are based in Newport Beach, CA and as Project Manager, yours truly likes to sleep in his own bed at night. I look forward to working with the amazing team at Danielian Associates, AIA and to showcasing their terrific designs, built with the very best in building materials throughout the new home.
